My goal in my photography is to capture moments in life in which one truly feels alive and to communicate that emotion to my viewers, so that they are rooted in that moment just as I was. To truly live is to be totally present and aware of one’s surroundings. Photography is a way to explain what I experience when words fail me, attempting to capture the essence of life through an interpretation of light. Something as ordinary as a piece of seaweed washed up on shore can suddenly become one of the most beautiful things that I have ever seen, when viewed in the proper light. I believe that this can be used as a metaphor to live life by, that even the most ordinary, mundane thing can become precious if looked at in the proper light.
